This type of policy is aimed at providing protection for the safe packaging, handling, and movement of the insured items throughout the transit period until they are handed over to the recipient or taken to any agreed destination. There are 2 types of goods-in-transit cover; · All Risk Cover- The cover that provides indemnity against loss of or damage to the property insured caused by accident to the vehicle converging the goods while in transit including the risk of loading and off-loading. · Restricted Cover- This covers loss or damage by fire or theft resulting from accident, collision on overturning of the converging vehicle(s).
